Biodanza holds this incontrovertible truth: Each one of us is a sheer, unrepeatable miracle.
In praise of that, we invite you into a dance of holy recognition.
Let us take off our masks and our protective armor—and dare to behold each other in the unfettered radiance of our naked hearts. In this place, we bow to the unique rhythms of one another, mirror our reciprocal light, and marvel at the wonder of our collective aliveness.
The art of intimacy calls us to trust the immediacy of vivencia, of life’s current—to stay present, even, and especially, through the vulnerable uncertainty of what is still announcing itself. When we summon the courage to trust emergence, what we often find, is a simultaneous arrival in the fierce and tender heart of belonging—to ourselves and to each other.
Ultimately, awash in the amorous choreography of connection, we recognize that the dance itself—much like life—is a fleeting, gorgeous ritual that longs to be celebrated, unabashedly, while it lasts.
What is Biodanza?
The word “Biodanza” literally translates, from Spanish, to mean “The Dance of Life.” Founded in the 1960s by Chilean anthropologist and psychologist Rolando Toro, it is an elegant system of somatic and relational self-development that combines dance, music, archetypal gestures, and intentional connection to stimulate five lines of human potential: vitality, sexuality, creativity, affectivity, and transcendence. It fosters reconnection with our vital instincts, our emotions, our bodies, and our in-the-flesh relationship with each other as dynamic, feeling human beings. Sometimes referred to as “The Poetry of Human Encounter,” it is truly a Masterclass in embodied Love!
About the facilitator:
Carolina Churba is a Master Teacher, direct lineage holder, and leading world-figure of Biodanza.
Having grown up in Buenos Aires where she met Rolando Toro when she was only 18, she is one of the first international facilitators exporting this practice from South America to the rest of the world.
A true pioneer, she brought Biodanza to Africa where she taught and ran a school for 23 years. Most recently, she was the beloved Director of the Rhode Island School of Biodanza from which she graduated 18 new facilitators. Carolina has bridged continents through dance and has personally trained almost 100 teachers worldwide.
About the co-host:
Ashley King brings nearly two decades of experience as a somatic psychotherapist and facilitator, drawing from traditions that honor the intelligence of the body, the power of emotional truth, and the poetics of embodied relationship. Her work weaves together mindfulness, relational depth, and an artful sensitivity to what is unapologetically alive. She is the founder of Psychoalchemy.com and Biodanza Philly, where she is growing a vibrant community of enthusiasts for the Dance of Life.
